There’s something to be said about how beautiful it is to have straight teeth. But a properly aligned smile also tends to be healthier. Choosing to get clear braces like Invisalign can help you reduce your risk of tooth decay, gum disease, worn enamel, and even TMJ disorder. Although originally designed to address minor tooth movement or relapse following previous orthodontic therapy, today’s technology makes Invisalign effective for most of our patients, including those with more moderate to severe misalignment. Our Bridgeville, PA dentists are Invisalign certified providers with years of experience and extensive training, allowing you to enjoy clear braces without any extra referrals to an outside specialty clinic. As you change out your Invisalign trays every two weeks, your bite is systematically aligned until you finally achieve straight teeth. Since we send your clear braces home with you in advance, we’ll only need to see you about every other month to evaluate your progress and provide your next series of aligners.
When you smile in photographs or laugh in front of your friends, does more of your gum tissue show than teeth? “Gummy smiles” occur when excessive gum tissue covers a portion of your tooth enamel, making your teeth look short or uneven. You may even find that your gum lines seem to become more problematic during pregnancy or while taking specific types of prescription medications. Fortunately, crown lengthening is a safe and effective cosmetic dentistry procedure to recontour your gum lines for a fuller looking smile. The more of your healthy tooth surface that is exposed, the fuller and brighter your teeth will look!
- More even gumline
- Fuller looking teeth
- Gentle and safe
- Fast recovery
- Instant results
Anytime we adjust the contours of the gum tissue to bring them further down the surface of a tooth, it’s referred to as crown lengthening. While this measure is an effective cosmetic dentistry solution for gummy smiles, it’s also needed if a tooth requires a crown, but not enough healthy structure is visible. By lowering the gum margin, the tooth can support a full coverage restoration instead of having to be extracted. Since our crown lengthening procedures are completed with a soft tissue laser, you can expect immediate results with very little discomfort (if any at all). Lasers eliminate swelling and bleeding, for a faster recovery of your cosmetic dentistry procedure.
As experienced sedation dentistry providers, our Bridgeville, PA patients can enjoy added comfort during any procedure, whether it be crown lengthening or a more complex cosmetic dentistry appointment. Thanks to relaxation options, it’s possible to complete multiple procedures during a single visit. If you tend to feel anxious about going to the dentist or severe phobia has kept you out of a dental office for years, we’re here to help!
Say goodbye to your gummy smile! Correct your uneven gum lines in one simple laser dentistry treatment. Schedule your consultation today to find out which cosmetic dentistry option is right for you.
When you want the best cosmetic dentistry solution for transforming your smile, porcelain veneers are usually the go-to choice. Veneers are crafted of thin shells of porcelain, which we bond over your healthy smile to give the appearance of straight, white teeth. You can even request specific shapes and hues of porcelain veneers, for a uniquely beautiful smile that looks as great as the results make you feel. Veneers are usually a two-visit process to complete, after your initial consultation and exam. During the first appointment we’ll prep your teeth and take an impression. About two weeks later, your permanent porcelain veneers will be ready to bond in place. As soon as they are, you’ll have a long-lasting treatment that is as much of an investment in your self-esteem as it is the way your teeth look to your friends and family.
- Comprehensive smile design
- Straighter, fuller looking teeth
- Hides misaligned, crowded bites
- Fast and dramatic results
What if you need fast and dramatic results but don’t have the time to complete a dental veneers case? Snap-On Smile is a fast and affordable option that can help you look your best for an upcoming important event. Snap-On Smile is also ideal for our Bridgeville, PA patients to wear as an interim appliance as they complete their restorative or cosmetic dentistry procedures. Like a retainer, Snap-On Smiles are removable appliances that fit over your teeth, hiding them behind an aesthetically designed temporary mouthpiece. While this prosthesis isn’t meant to be a long-term solution, it does provide fast and short-term solutions for unique situations. You may want to wear a Snap-On Smile if you’re in the middle of implant treatment but have a wedding to attend, need to look best for a job interview, or don’t have time to get veneers before your class reunion.
Crowns & Bridges
When you’ve suffered from extensive tooth decay, broken teeth, or recently gotten an implant to replace a missing tooth, a dental crown is the tooth colored restoration that covers the part of your tooth/implant visible above the gums. Dental crowns provide a two-fold service: protecting the underlying tooth against additional damage while also restoring your smile’s aesthetic appearance. Our Bridgeville, PA practice is happy to provide digitally advanced technology that allows us to provide single visit (same day) dental crowns to our patients, eliminating the need to make a second appointment. In contrast, dental bridges are used when a tooth needs to be replaced altogether. Resembling multiple crowns bonded side-by-side, bridges are anchored on top of healthy teeth or implants that are adjacent to the missing tooth. The suspended crown fills in the space or gap caused by tooth loss.
There are many advantages to same day dental crowns including:
- Completed in one appointment instead of two
- Enjoy the added comfort of sedation dentistry
- Perfect for dental implant and root canal patients
- Less time off work
- No gooey impressions
- Digitally designed (no room for human error!)
When Would You Need a Crown or Bridge?
Severe tooth decay or accidents can leave behind significant dental damage. Dental crowns are made to cover and protect the tooth structure that’s left behind, when a small filling isn’t appropriate.
Endodontic therapy removes the vital nerve supply to a tooth, so that it doesn’t need to be extracted. But it can make the enamel more brittle, so putting a dental crown on top of it is usually the best way to protect your smile.
Dental bridges are a traditional and reliable way to fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. However, they require healthy teeth or implants on each side of the space in order to be successful.
Implants are the artificial “roots” set within the bone, but they do not include the restoration on top. A dental crown or bridge is attached to the implant via an abutment, for functional and aesthetic purposes.
