It begins with tooth decay Tooth decay can extend down into the soft tissue layer of your tooth called the pulp causing the it to become infected.
Under the white enamel and hard layer called dentin, the center of your tooth is what we call pulp. The pulp is a collection of blood vessels that feed and build the surrounding tooth. When you experience tooth trauma, decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures, the pulp can become infected.
An infected pulp will cause pain and can also result in an abscessed tooth when infection and swelling develops in the tissues around or beneath the tooth.
When the pulp becomes infected or the tooth becomes abscessed, it is necessary to perform a root canal to relieve pain and save the tooth.
Designed to remove nerves from the infected pulp of a tooth, root canal therapy eliminates infection and pain while also reducing the chance of future infection. After the root canal therapy is complete, you will need to have a crown or other restoration placed to further protect the tooth and restore its normal function.
Over 15 million root canals are performed every year to save natural teeth and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges. Saving your natural teeth is always the goal as it is the best option for your optimal oral health and our goal at DiBartola Dental.
If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms, you may need a root canal:
Getting a crown used to mean plastic temporary crowns and multiple visits to the dentist. Today’s approach is faster, easier, and more effective. With advanced technology, Dr. DiBartola creates and places a permanent crown in one visit. It’s faster, easier, and more effective.
A crown caps a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size. Crowns strengthen the tooth it covers as well as dramatically improving its appearance. They can also be used to restore a tooth, attach to a bridge, protect teeth from breaking, and cover misshaped teeth.
With Same Day Crowns, you can walk in with a chipped, cracked or damaged tooth, and walk out that same day with a restored smile.
At DiBartola Dental, our revolutionary technology allows our experienced team to quickly create a natural-looking ceramic crown on the spot.
Our same day crowning process removes the need for temporary crowns or waiting weeks for permanent crowns to arrive. You’ll leave your visit ready to share your smile.
No need for gunk-filled, messy, and uncomfortable impressions. Instead, we digitally map your mouth using a specialized camera to capture a highly detailed digital image of the area where the crown will be placed.
Our software helps our experienced team create an accurate 3D model of your new tooth using the detailed digital image. Using the 3D model as a blueprint, the system employs guided technology to mill a precise restoration while you wait. Within minutes, our team can create a beautifully precise crown just for you.
When the ceramic crown is completed, we ensure the color matches your natural teeth and then place your new crown permanently in your mouth. The result is a beautiful natural looking crown that blends seamlessly with your other teeth.
Instead of filling your mouth with messy gunk, Dr. DiBartola captures a high-definition digital image of the area where the crown will be placed.
With your comfort and relaxation in mind, our advanced smile professionals efficiently prepare the area to accommodate the ceramic crown.

When your new ceramic crown is ready to restore your smile, our experienced clinician will make sure it matches your existing tooth shade and place it precisely where it belongs.
If you are missing teeth, we can custom fit a dental bridge to fill a space your tooth previously occupied. Dental bridges have crowns that fit atop the teeth on both sides of the space and are designed for patients who have healthy gums and teeth and only one or two damaged teeth.
Most bridges last for up to 15 years, especially if you practice good oral hygiene while wearing them. Your bridge will be checked during your regular dental visits.
